Put Some Wind In Our Sails
The Galley is a coffee shop style environment, which is supervised and safe space where High School aged youth can gather after school to do homework, play games or hang out with friends. Our Captain and Crew will be there to encourage and talk with young people.
On Wednesdays The Galley is open for families so younger kids can have fun with horse rides, cotton candy and face painting!
For those with specific needs, our Navigators will be available to help them make a plan and move forward toward their destination.
Open 3:30 to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday until end of the school year. Over the summer we will have special evening events! Check our calendar on the website.
In the evenings, The Galley will host special events and be a safe place for community youth. There will be swing dancing, game nights, live music, movie nights, paint night, art lessons and much more!
Our in-house navigators would like to hear your story! And if you would like, they can help you discover a path forward and connect you with resources and services in the area

A safe space to hangout and play games/listen to music with friends after school.

Make progress on those assignments!

Everyone's situation is different, so we want to make sure that youth has access to at least one meal each day.

We will have trusted adults available to encourage young people who may be dealing with hard issues of life.

The Galley youth ministry is located in The Regent Building at the top of Lake Street on East End Road. The Regent Building is designed to display God’s love, acceptance and hope and can be experienced in two primary ways. One, the Regent Building is the home of Regent Life Church, a family oriented church centered on Jesus, the Scriptures and transformed lives. Two, The Galley is a space that provides a safe, supervised after school program for high school aged kids from 3:30 pm to 6 pm, five days a week during the school year. Our volunteers offer someone to talk to, and familiar faces to greet and encourage them. We provide a free meal and something to drink. The space also hosts a full service restaurant open to the public called The Galley Cafe from 7 am to 3 pm Tuesday through Saturday. The proceeds beyond expenses go directly to support the youth outreach. There are also meal vouchers that can be purchased to give to those in need.
